Not everyone knows that on the 25 Metre Street in Alanya, there is a turn (to the right at the Garanti Bank) that leads straight to the Atatürk house and museum. Turkey's unrivalled hero that led the country to independence visited Alanya on February 18, 1935. A historic event for the city. He arrived a day earlier than expected and as a result, the entire organisational committee was in distress. Atatürk was housed where the museum is now located. There is sti...
Between Alanya and Mahmutlar, just before the municipality of Kestel, is the exit for the Dimçay River. This is perhaps the best place in the Alanya region to spend a truly relaxing day. How about an afternoon along the water in your own tree house? Enjoying fresh fish and salads with the sound of the river in the background? It is the restaurants that make the Dimçay a unique attraction. Almost every establishment has built wooden huts, up against the mount...

This announcement in the newspapers led to an unprecedented flow of tourists and asthmatics who wanted to experience this "miracle" themsel...
Perhaps you have had a (second) home in Mahmutlar for some time and you think you know the entire village like the back of your hand. You have to know exactly how to get there - it's in the back of Mahmutlar, a few kilometres from the sea and a Turkish flag marks the location - the ruins are hidden behind banana plantations and in a swampy area. Moreover, this is a small loc...
To reach the well-known ruins of Laertes via Mahmutlar, drive 12 kilometres to the east from the centre of Mahmutlar into the mountains (at the roundabout with the dervish Mevlana) into the sanayi (industrial street) and then take the first major road to the right into the mountains. Past the replica of the Syedra castle, you will see a sign for Laertes. You must then turn left onto a road going up in a north-westerly direction that leads to the ruins.
